Sweet Potato Casserole

Tis the season to be jolly and filled with yummy holiday dishes. My sweet potato casserole is a sweet yet savory dish that will please friends and family around the table this Christmas. Imagine warm sweet potatoes with brown sugar and a marshmallow topping that will captivate all of your dinner guests. With just a few simple steps, this sweet potato casserole will be a sure hit at your next gathering.


8 large sweet potatoes (or 2 large cans of yams)

½ cup of brown sugar

¼ cup of sugar

½ cup of butter

¼ cup of milk

1 teaspoon of salt

1 teaspoon of cinnamon

2 cups of mini marshmallows


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Bake sweet potatoes for 1 hour or until soft
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine peeled sweet potatoes, sugar, butter, milk, salt and cinnamon
  4. Use an electric mixer (Kitchen Aid preferred) to whip ingredients until smooth. Be careful not to over mix into a liquid-like consistency
  1. Pour mixture into a large baking dish
  2. Sprinkle brown sugar on top
  3. Bake for 30 minutes
  4. Remove from oven and cover with marshmallows
  5. Bake for 25 minutes until marshmallows have a golden glaze
  6. Enjoy!
