Chinese Chicken Salad

I’ll admit it; I am obsessed with Chinese food. The problem is that I, well my stomach, cannot tolerate all of the added preservatives in the food. I made it my mission to create a delicious recipe for the Chinese food lover in us all. So here you go my fellow human who deserves only the best that recipes have to offer, my Chinese Chicken Salad.


1-pound boneless and skinless chicken breast

2 cups of shredded cabbage (or a full bag of Asian salad mix)

¼ cup of shredded carrots

1 package of ramen noodles

Sliced almonds

Fried wanton noodles

¼ cup of low sodium soy sauce

2 tablespoons sesame oil

2 tablespoons of vegetable oil

1 tablespoon minced garlic

1 tablespoon of fresh orange juice





  1. Add butter to a large frying pan and turn stove to a medium heat
  2. Dice chicken into small pieces
  3. Add chicken to frying pan and slowly pour in 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  4. Cover chicken and simmer for 10 minutes on a medium heat
  5. Cook ramen noodles in a sauce pan and set aside (strain and keep warm)
  6. Add butter to another small pan and let simmer on a low heat
  7. Add remaining soy sauce and stir
  8. Add in sesame oil and stir
  9. Add in vegetable oil and stir
  10. Add in orange juice and stir
  11. Add in minced garlic and stir
  12. Let sauce simmer for 3 minutes
  13. Do not let sauce break or harden to the pan
  14. Add salt and pepper to the chicken and turn on a high heat until chicken is golden brown


  1. Place cabbage on a large dinner plate
  2. Add ramen noodles on top
  3. Pour sauce over the noodles and cabbage
  4. Add soy chicken
  5. Add almonds and wantons to the top for an extra crunch
  6. Enjoy!
