Picadillo – Spanish Recipe

Need a last minute dinner idea? Look no further! This delicious Picadillo recipe is sure to captivate the taste buds of your guests. The recipe below easily feeds 4 people. In order to feed a larger family, double the rice portion and add ½ pound of ground beef to the ingredients list.


1 pound of ground beef

2 slices of bacon

1 small yellow onion

1 green bell pepper

Garlic salt




8 oz. can of tomato sauce

1 packet of Sazon Goya w/ Culantro

2 cups of white rice


  1. Wash and finely dice green peppers and onions
  2. Add butter to a large skillet and turn to a medium heat
  3. Add peppers and onions and begin to simmer
  4. Dice bacon slices and let simmer for 5 minutes
  5. Add ground beef and cook until golden brown
  6. Add all spices
  7. Add tomato sauce
  8. Stir all ingredients
  9. Cover and let simmer for 15 minutes
  10. Cook 5 minute white rice in a separate pan and let cool
  11. Microwave ½ cup of black beans

That’s it! This simple meal is full of flavor without the hassle of multiple ingredients. The leftovers taste just as wonderful the next day! That is, if any are left….
